TRIBUTE TO A MOTHER INDEED

… I title this short piece TRIBUTE TO A MOTHER INDEED

An eaglet never knows she is destined to be an Eagle until she sees her mother soar above the clouds in an impossible flight. The destiny of all children are therefore in one way or the other tied to their mothers. My Name is Esther Oyefeso. In this case I am the Eaglet and my Mum, Deaconess Olabisi Oyefeso happens to be the Eagle.

Deaconess Olabisi Oyefeso was born August 6, 1970 in the midst of a family known as “THE OBA ROYAL HOUSE”. Her late Father is, Mr. Gabriel Adesanya Taiwo and Her Mother Madam benise Fasasi Taiwo.

Her Primary Education was at…….

A primary school per excellence.

She had her Secondary School Education at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu.

Her tertiary Education was at the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Ilaro. She served her Nation at Sokoto Central Market were she was fondly called “Bisi Yaiki”.

Married to late Mr Adedeji Olusesan Oyefeso, she is blessed with two wonderful children, Esther and Fiyin Oyefeso.

She is a fervent Lover of God who has served actively in numerous Positions in various positions. She is currently the Head of the Ushering Department of her Church (NAME OF CHURCH). She is a successful business woman who keeps looking up to God for Greater heights.

My mum is Loving, Hardworking, Caring, Beautiful and a disciplinarian to the core.

I pray from the depth of my heart that she will reap the fruits of her labour, she will not weap over any of her children, the Lord will increase her on both sides and grant her her greatest desires. The lord will continue to be a husband to her. She will watch her children succeed in life. A proud Mother she will be and Finally when it is time to meet her Father in Glory she will not be found wanting.

Lastly but most importantly, I want to appreciate everyone for their Love towards my Mum. I am forever grateful to God because it is indeed a priviledge to have such amazing people around us. We are blessed to have you all as part of our lives. I want to specially appreciate the members of the various churches represented here. I pray that whatsoever you ask of God He will give unto you. JESUS will forever be your Anchor and he will never leave you for a second. The lord will forever keep you, you will not know sorrow. The Lord will be your guide, strength and shield. Thank you all, we do not take your presence for Granted. May God grant you all journey mercies back to your various houses. Today you all have gathered to Celebrate My Mum, You also shall be Celebrated. Thank you all once again, may we meet next year once again safe and sound in the arms of The Lord.

MOVIE REVIEW: THE TRAIN

BY GBADAMOSI JOSEPH

The blockbuster movie, ‘THE TRAIN’ has indeed made a statement in the Nollywood film industry. The 2 hours 44 minutes movie produced by Mike Bamiloye propels a torrent of emotions in the watcher, from laughter to sorrow, anger to Regret. It takes it’s watchers on a journey of Faith.

The movie is a true life story of how Evangelist Mike Bamiloye journeyed through life. It seeks to inspire and educate it’s watchers by telling the story of how the Famous evangelist achieved his goal regardless of the mountains that stood on his path.

It is very easy to fall in love with the amazing young boy who acted as the young “Mike Bamiloye”. He was hilarious, intense and did a great job.

Overtime it has been argued that the Nollywood film industry can in no way meet the standards of their counter parts (Hollywood and Bollywood). I for one disagree with this notion as each film industry has it’s own pattern, uniqueness and way of doing things. Nollywood’s knack has and will always be, to teach morals.

The African diaspora has led to a melding of cultures between Africans and Europeans. One of the resultant effects of this is that we forget our uniqueness and strength. Instead we bow to a new Government. This perception must change. We must embrace our culture and build it to it’s maximum potential. Let’s take a look at the major lessons of this awesome movie.

The most striking for me is the message that everyone may not believe in your God given vision, nevertheless helpers will come. Some may dissuade you but if you are consistent they will celebrate you. It may not look like it but keep trusting in God. They may look down on you, don’t look at that, believe in yourself and like a phoenix you shall rise, from ashes to beauty, from dusk to dawn.

Sometimes what gets you annoyed is a pointer to your assignment. Evangelist Mike was annoyed with the fact that worldly movies were being propagated on TV and there were no movies to glorify God, this led to the emergence of the Christian Movie Industry.

Never under-estimate the power of Prayer. Prayer is not just a platform for placing requests but a means of communicating with your Father, It is important that you hear from God too.

Believe in yourself. If anyone should not believe in you and your Dreams, it should not be you. Never give up on your God given assignment. The one that gave them to you will defend you.

Do not lose hope in a child because his future seems bleak. It was literally impossible to believe that a child like Mike Bamiloye will one Day become who he is today. Do not give up on people. The one that looks like he has no future today may be the one stretching forth a hand of help tomorrow.

The word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. It is capable of penetrating the hardest of hearts. The Protagonist was a chronic thief but God’s word transformed him and gave him an assignment that is a blessing to many till today.

Do not despise your days of humble beginnings. The protagonist learnt a lot from his background and it kept him going.

Marriage is more than an agreement. It is a covenant. Your marriage partner is very important and plays a crucial role in the fulfillment of your God given assignment.

Finally, trust God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
